Urban Hike: the Classic

A 9km, 3hrs city adventure through Zurich's Old Town * 250- per group up to 4 ppl

3 hr
250 Schweizer Franken
Bahnhofstrasse

Service Description

This is the Classic city hike, it hits all the high points and is well-rounded with a mix of old town sightseeing, secret doors and passages, wooden walkways, plenty of stairs and a lot of adventure around each corner. It is 9km (5.6mi) so it's no joke; great for fit & active people who regularly get their 10,000 daily steps in and are happy to tackle approximately 300m of elevation gain and descent. The hike follows a loop route, starting and ending at the beautiful Bürkliplatz, right on the shores of Lake Zurich - or another meeting point upon request. This is an active-paced walk, designed for those who like to keep moving while exploring. Your guide will share stories, insights, and local secrets along the way - a walking conversation rather than a stop-and-lecture tour. Please wear comfortable shoes with good tread (no flip-flops), bring a refillable water bottle, and dress appropriately for the day’s weather. There is a 15 minute "pic-nic" stop around 3/4 of the way into the hike for snacks. Toilet break is around 1 hour into the hike. Prices include the entire guided itinerary. Gratuities for a job well done - above & beyond your expectations - always welcome :) Fitness Level: Participants should assess their fitness level as moderate. The hike includes stairs, tight spaces, and cobblestoned streets, yet it is entirely within the city and does not include any mountain hiking trail. Be ready for short but steep stairs.
Safety: Your safety is our priority but also your responsibility. Be mindful of the weather conditions, which may render the streets slippery when wet, and your physical limits. Equipment: Wear comfortable, broken-in hiking shoes (or gym shoes with good tread) and dress in layers suitable for changeable weather conditions — don't forget a rain jacket. Bring a day pack/backpack, ID, money/cc, and any personal medication.
Sun Protection: Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat are recommended to protect against the sun. Hydration & Snacks: Bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the tour and your favorite snacks. What is included? ☞ Professional, multilingual guide & friend ☞ Detailed map of Zurich, tips & suggestions ☞ Photos & Memories for a Lifetime! ☞ Bonus: small Swiss pick-nic (typical Swiss bread & cheese) Price: 250 per group up to 4 people. More than 4 in your group? contact us for a personalized offer. Languages available: English, Spanish, French & Italian. Kids: active kids welcome!
