Long Hike: the Distance
Long Hike: the Distance
An 18km, 4.5hrs extended city hike for true explorers * 350- per group up to 4 ppl
Service Description
The real deal! Add on these extra 8km and we have a half day hike which will take us out of the city and along the lake, adding to the adventure and the fun as we take in the sights and cover different terrain. This tour combines the Classic Urban Hike tour with an 8km lakeside hike which ends in Seerose, Kilchberg. From here you can either take the public bus back to the city to our starting point - Burkliplatz, right at the edge of the lake of Zurich, or let your feet take you back and add on an extra 8km for a super-long-distance hiking day! You must wear comfortable shoes with good tread (no flip flops), bring a refillable water bottle and appropriate weather gear. The hike is paced to be active, so the guide will provide information and comments but will not stop at every corner, it's rather a walking commentary. There are two 15 minute "pic-nic" stops around 3/4 of the way into the hike and again on the lakeside, for snacks or a sandwich. Toilet breaks are around 1 hour into the hike and later on at the lakeside stop Prices include the entire guided itinerary. Gratuities for a job well done - above & beyond your expectations - always welcome :) Fitness Level: Participants should assess their fitness level as moderate. The hike includes stairs, tight spaces, and cobblestoned streets, yet it is entirely within the city and does not include any mountain hiking trail. Be ready for short but steep stairs.
Safety: Your safety is our priority but also your responsibility. Be mindful of the weather conditions, which may render the streets slippery when wet, and your physical limits. Equipment: Wear comfortable, broken-in hiking shoes (or gym shoes with good tread) and dress in layers suitable for changeable weather conditions — don't forget a rain jacket. Bring a day pack/backpack, ID, money/cc, and any personal medication.
Sun Protection: Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat are recommended to protect against the sun. Hydration & Snacks: Bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the tour and your favorite snacks. What is included? ☞ Professional, multilingual guide & friend ☞ Detailed map of Zurich, tips & suggestions ☞ Photos & Memories for a Lifetime! ☞ Bonus: small Swiss pick-nic (typical Swiss bread & cheese) Price: 350 per group up to 4 people. More than 4 in your group? contact us for a personalized offer. Languages available: English, Spanish, French & Italian. Kids: active kids welcome!
